I. Teaching aims
Knowledge aim:
1.to master the key words. classic, treasure, island
2.to know the names of four Chinese classics《The dream of the red chambers》 《The story by the water margin》《Journey to the west》《Romance of the three kingdoms》
Ability aim:
1.Can talk about the books they have read by using the key sentences: Have you read…yet? Can answer it freely.
2.To know the four names of six foreign books.
Emotional aim:
After learning, they can know the importance of reading. Enjoy reading, enrich the life.
II. Key and difficult points.
The tasks from 2b listening. Students must catch the brief information from the four foreign books《Treasure Island》Is about a boy who goes out the sea and finds an island full of treasures.《Tom Sawyer》About a boy who lives in the United States,not in United Kingdom.

Step 1. Warming up by singing an English song. Providing an atmosphere for students to learn English.
Step 2. Lead in. Short talk, It's a fine day today! We should keep active and happy to enter today's lesson, right? Today's topic is…To cheer students up. a word short talk,do you like reading books? Let students know reading is ladder of human progress.
Step 3. Presentation.
1.Show four pictures to review the four fairy stories from China《Yu Gong moves the mountains》《Journey to the west》《The emperor's new clothes》既复习了学过的知识,又对新的学习内容进行了一个很好的铺垫。
2.Show the four Chinese classics teach students the four names. And then lead out Have you read …yet? 四大名著的这个名字是一个难点,学生们之前也从来没有接触过。这个环节也是对本课内容的一个拓展,不仅要明白The importance of reading,而且让他们清楚要阅读Classics。要用经典名著的精华来improve themselves。
3.New words learning. Show pictures and the object to learn the key words.用我脖子上戴的这个necklace来学习treasure这个单词,直观形象,容易理解。用台湾island这个地形图来学习岛屿这个单词。更是比较有代表性,而且还复习了第七单元最高级的用法,台湾island is the biggest island in China还拓展了一个the second biggest Island is海南island.
4.Show six foreign books to learn the names. And ask them, Have you read them yet? Then complete 1a.外国书的名字是本节课学习的一个重点内容,通过图画展示以及简要概述书的内容,从而激发学生来读外国经典名著的欲望。
Step 4. Practicing in pairs. Pair work主要是用来提升学生的communication这个能力。对本节课的重点句型进行一个有效的操练,have you read yet?
Step 5. Showing students a short video about Robinson Crusoe. Let them answer the questions according the video.短视频的展示主要是让学生感知外国名著的趣味性,从而喜欢上reading,我选择了一个内容丰富,人物形象生动,情节较为刺激,并且贴近学生认知水平的这么一小段关于《鲁滨逊漂流记》的视频。之后让学生自己猜片名。然后回答看到的动物种类,再尽可能多的用形容词来描述自己对视频的感受。同时对后面的听力任务也有一个引导作用。
Step 6.listening to complete 1b,2a,2b.2b的听力任务是本节课的难点。需要学生能够简要说出几部外国名著的简要内容。
Step 7. Making conversation between the teacher and the students. Between students.
Step 8.Playing a game to practice the participles .男女生代表分别上台代表所有的男生,女生来完成这么一个竞技性的PK小游戏。主要目的是对本节课语法知识的一个小巩固,是关于一些单词的过去分词的快速识记并输出。
