教学目标

Knowledge aim: Ss can learn some new expressions & new phrases and know about proper health and fitness so that they can take care of themselves.

Ability aim:    Ss can improve their reading and writing ability and ability of making a survey and making a questionnaire.

Emotional aim:  Ss can develop the spirit of co-operation.

教学重难点

Enable the Ss to understand the importance of keeping fit.

Enable the Ss to make a survey and list the points about keeping fit.

Step 1. Lead-in

1.       Introduce what is a booklet. A very thin book with a small number of pages and a paper cover, giving information about something.

2.       Show Ss some pictures and ask,

a.       Are they healthy?

b.       How to keep fit?

 

Step 2. Fast Reading

Try to find the topic sentence of each paragraph

Para 1:  Eating the right food and exercise regularly will make you feel and look better.

Para 2:  Healthy eating along with regular exercise is the only way to become fit.

Para 3:  It is important to give your body enough energy and water.

Para 4:  Teenagers should spend at least 30 minutes exercising, five times a week.

Para 5:  Teenagers need 8 to 10 hours of sleep each night.

Para 6:  Follow the above to look and feel much better.

Step 3.Read the article again and try to finish the tasks.

1)      Let’s know more about healthy diet.

(show them a picture of healthy diet)  

2) Fill in the blanks

When exercising, your body produces ________that make you _______and _______ and increase your ability to_________ when  you study

_________ of sleep each night

Loss of sleep can even cause you to _____

weight!

3)Grasp the main idea of the article

 

  Eating right food, drinking plenty of water, exercising regularly and having enough sleep will make a teenager feel and look better.

Step 4.Let’s play a game.

         Suppose you are a doctor, here comes a boy who is overweight, he asks for some advice. Give him a list of a healthy diet.

         Here are some food for you to choose.

Eggs, fish, vegetables, milk, noodles, bread, corns, beef, pork, soup, chicken, pizza…

You can also choose food which is not in this list.

 

The list should be like this.

         Lunch:

 

         Supper:

 

Ask three groups to tell their list and explain why they make such a list

Step 5.Show them a booklet for keeping fit

Tell them how to make a booklet and then ask them to make one by themselves
